While I was looking for pictures to put on my newly made ribbon picture board, I remembered a post on The College Prepster, where Carly created Instagram photostrips. I thought that this would be the perfect project that would look great with my photo board, while allowing me to include all of my favorite pictures in a limited space.

I followed Carly’s directions for the project exactly, and they came out perfect! First, I selected all of the pictures that I wanted to use. I figured that I would make four photostrips, with four pictures on each. I laid out my 16 pictures in the order that I wanted them, and labeled them in a folder so that they were easily accessible for when I went to place them in Photoshop.

The first file that I used was Carly’s 1.5 inches by 6 inches file with the white borders. I uploaded my first four photos into the file, and saved it as Instagram1.psd. I then deleted the pictures, and uploaded the next four, saving the new file as Instagram2.psd. I continued these steps until all four strips were created, deleting each set before uploading and saving the new one. I also saved each strip as a JPEG file so that I could have them for reference.

After each of my strips were created, I made a new Photoshop file that was 6 inches by 6 inches, and placed each of the individual strips into it. They lined up perfectly, and because they are all on one page you will save time and money when it comes to printing. I saved this completed Photoshop file as a JPEG, put it on my flash drive, and took it over to my local Staples to have it printed. I printed it on a standard 8.5 inch by 11 inch piece of glossy paper, and cut them, leaving the standard photostrip white border.

They came out so cute, and will look great on my photo board! Instagram photostrips can make cute gifts, and it is an easy craft project that you can turn virtually any photo into!
